Adolescent Pregnancy Services

Provide Pregnancy Related Services (PRS) to teens and families. Interpret and train campus & district staff of PRS requirements per the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Maintain PRS data and documentation in the student information system. Complete teen needs assessment, refer to community agencies and assess for follow up. Provide case management services to eligible teens and families on five campuses across the district. Utilize organizational skills to maintain high functional mobility among various campuses. Create student's individual education and career plan (IECP) for academic success with student/family and continuously monitor for progress.  Encourage regular attendance, assist with child care needs, and group/individual counseling. Utilize March of Dimes curriculum (Becoming a Mom) to facilitate prenatal groups and collect data to report grant measures. Provide parenting information and community support services to students/families. Maintain collaborative relationships with community partners and refer for resources.  Conduct home and hospital visits as needed. Translate conversations for parents needing Spanish interpretation services. Educate student's medical providers of district attendance policies and create a plan to meet needs. Provide crisis support campus/student/families. Support the department by attending community meetings and promote program services. Assist campus with student crisis events as needed and serve as a campus consultant regarding student situations. Leads and manages the strategic planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of the Adolescent Pregnancy Services program. Create and facilitate program structures to support pregnant and parenting students, supervise up to thirty (30) staff members who provide PRS services across campuses district-wide. Coach and mentor staff to build leadership skills and leadership capacity within the department/campus. Support/guide staff who are experiencing student/family crisis. Maintain Texas Education Agency (TEA) compliance to obtain funding and build partnerships within the community while seeking additional resources and funding to meet student needs. Train campus/district staff on Pregnancy Related Services (PRS) and manage program budget and expenses. Seek staff training opportunities focused on pregnant/parenting students to maintain up-to-date information and practices. Attend conferences across the state/nation to compare data and obtain new ideas for best practices and use data-driven decision making in a continuous improvement model for APS. Strong computer skills to present on department data and trends. Coordinate and facilitate meetings with pregnancy related services (PRS) directors within the metroplex to ensure program fidelity and serve as a program consultant. Collaborate with district program directors with a common vision to meet/enhance student well-being and district needs.
